About me
My name is Dag Stordalen, a software developer and consultant in B2B e-commerce. Through Stordalen IT AB in Kristianstad, Sweden, I help companies that sell configurable and customized products to other businesses.
Since 2017 I have worked on e-commerce for the workwear manufacturer Blåkläder: first through an agency, then as an employee and since 2023 as a consultant. During those years the company’s revenue grew from about SEK 1 to 2.9 billion.
Experience
I have worked as a senior developer in teams, responsible for both backend and frontend. For some systems and features I have had end-to-end responsibility.
- Product configurators for printing and embroidery, where each garment is customized in the checkout for the person who will wear it
- A settings-driven buying platform for business customers and dealers
- A platform for value-added services, expected to save thousands of sales hours a year
- APIs and integrations with PIM, payments and shipping
- Performance optimization that made key API calls 10 to 100 times faster
I’ve also worked for other companies on carrier integrations, delivery data as well as presenting and editing map and location data.
How I work
In smaller projects I’m happy to take end-to-end responsibility: requirements, architecture, development, deployment and maintenance. In larger projects I fit just as well into an existing team.
I prefer short deliveries that can be tested. You see results early and can change direction before it becomes costly.
